Uploading Flip Camera Content
1. Update Flip Software to 5.12. You can see what version you are currently running by going to the last tab on the menu bar and selecting "about"
2. You may have to do a google search for software upgrade
3. The upgrade updates the software on the camera that allows you to export as an mp4 *Note-once the camera software is installed you can switch it from computer to computer without updating files on individual computers.
4. Import directly into VBrick *Note - check to see that files extension is mp4
A. Login is first part of email username/password is the teacher number (750 Number)
A. Admins can look and see which teachers are added
A. Pricipals are the admins for the program....the only admin
A. The Admin logins will be sent to them
A. Teacher has to use D750 before their username when logging in, however when the admin setup teachers, they DO NOT ADD the D750
A. Admin login is only used to setup and service accounts
A. There will be a "Teacher" Tab - this is where teachers access the program
A. Admins -Make sure you do not duplicate a teacher login
A. A User list may be generated by double clicking on Username in Delete Existing User. From this list you can determine if the user name is already in use.
A. When creating a new teacher user - the Teacher ID is generated/found by clicking on the *Teacher ID tab
A. Do not delete any teacher from the "Global Teacher Tab"
A. Admins have the options to "delete" or "change" an exisiting user. DONT change the name until their license reflects the name change
A. Change User password or unlock user - Admins must do - teachers are locked out after 3 bad logins. Teacher must logout and then back in after the default password is reset to their teacher ID number 750IDNumber
B. Teacher Portal/Attendance
B. Class Period Attendance must be crated before teacher portal can be used for taking attendance
B. Only create class period attendance after you have completed scheduling for the year.
B. To create class period attendance, go to STAR and create class period attendance
B. While creating class period attendance - Effective Date is the date the student enrolled
B. Never ever reset class period attendance without cking with Bob Mayes and Mary Odom
B. Then Click on Run and Hope!!
B. Set up attendance code table/click on Absence Code
B. Steps for Teacher Input of Attendance:
B. login to portal https://ssms.state.tn.us/pls/portal
B. Click on teacher tab
B. The teacher tab should appear
B. Then choose attendance for the class to which you want to post attendance - elementary only needs to do for homeroom
B. Choose the value appropriate for and unexcused absence
B. Teachers take attendance preferbly within the first 30 minutes of class. If the child is not present and checks in late - the attendance operator will make the changes to "Tardy"
B. Teachers must keep a paper copy of the grade book.
B. This is the last thing the teacher does- Once you have filled all the attendance records then go to the bottom of the page and click submit
B. Now Attendance Operator - How do you get daily attendance in Star? 1st Go to Download to Daily Attendance in Class/PD Attendance
B. 2nd Attendance Operator - Click on "Use Specific Period" and enter the period you want to use for your daily attendance

B. *Note teachers can print out a hard copy
B. Substitute teachers are not allowed to have a login so they will have to do this on paper. Interims will be able to use the program.
B. There is no mandate to use teacher portal.
B. How can it be determined if a teacher if a teacher has reported attendance
B. Go to Class/Pd Attendance
B. Then to Maintenance/Teacher Posting Log/Wait a moment and then choose the Print Tab
B. Under Status to Process choose the appropriate item (Did not Post Anything)

C. For Teachers - Under the teacher tab, click on "gradebook"
C. For Teachers - Next choose categories - you have options
C. For Teachers all categories count equally, they can change the weight, MAKE SURE nothing is left as a zero
C. Next your go to "Assignments" Tip - More than likely if a teacher locks up it is due to putting a zero under "assignment"
C. Marking Period Table - the only thing that needs to be adjusted - post start date and post end date - this is when teachers can post grades
C. For Teachers to Send Grades - Select Grades, not gradebook, send those grades over
C. Parent Portal will not be available during the Post Start/Post End - each school decides these dates

C. Don Recommends Post Start Date - for 2 weeks before. *Attendance operator should stop the end date a few days before report cards go out. The reason is so that the attendance operator gets the most current data before uploading grades to the st
